A Wonderland That is India....

The panache for grabbing eyeballs is as deeply embroiled in us as the Indian curry.”The India has arrived” phenomenon that has suddenly placed us on the world’s stage is welcome change. The wonders and blunders that we so effortlessly make in the same breath never astonishes us as the world gapes in awe and disbelief. Yes that is our innate talent , it comes naturally to us, something you can find only in this part of the subcontinent.

The land of paradox as it is, the new land of opportunity that gives even America cold feet but gets bullied by China on the other hand; the world’s largest democracy as it boasts of itself but votes for the one and the same family time and again. Anti-incumbency is made to kneel down as this nation appears to suffer from age old pang to be led by monarchy and all in this in the name of democracy; Demographically the youngest nation on the globe , brimming with largest population of under 25 year age group yet led by the oldest Prime-minister in the world. Funny anyone ? That is how it goes ......in India. This is a country where GDP rises as fast as inflation such that one antic es the other for a race. The instance of audacity of the Indian state to offer enormous stock of food grains to the rats while the staggering number of its population goes to sleep without single morsel of food, the list is endless.

But if you think all these incidents deflates our spirit, think again. Optimism is pervasive in this part of the world. India is growing despite itself. In the face of the great depression India has emerged as a resilient economy. The exquisite show that India manged to put up (so what if in the last minute) at the recent Common Wealth Games was another demonstration of the grit India beheld when all the cynics of the world were let loose on us.From getting our own silicon valley in bengaluru to acquiring major companies overseas by our corporate giants, India is dominating the world scene. In a similar vein , the greater belief observers around the globe shown in ours has directly translated into foreign direct investment and this seismic shift unthinkable just decades before has placed us in different league altogether.

No more India is known as the land of snakes and elephants. Today it is viewed as alluring market with immense potential. The attraction which India offes today is not limited to yoga and spirituality but it ranges over overwhelming number of temptations from medical services to cheapest workforce of skilled workers. The contemporary Indian writers and artists have arrested the attention ot the west like never before as Indian students have redefined their presence in foreign campuses. The introduction of RTI was a defining moment in the history of India as it empowered the aam admi and turned the table for the first time. If realized the very recent right to education has the potential to change the face of India forever.

In the world view however, when it comes to Asia it is true that the Dragon is racing in leaps and bouds while the Tiger is panting behind but it is interesting to note that China is a country where 6600 human rights complaints are registered every single day, where even Google is illegitimate. Compare it with the Indian scene where effective and powerful media along with dedicated NGOs assert themselves in such a way that mighty politicians and babus also feel the heat. This trend got momentum in the last decade where issues are scrutinized from TV news channels to talk shows and eventually finds its way to common man’s dining table and when the nation polarizes over the issue, the victim’s voice is multiplied manifold which then becomes difficult to be ignored.

What is most remarkable feat of India today is that we have not lost our soul rather we have embraced it strongly. In the end it would hardly matter if we join the league of developed nations a decade later. It would be interesting to note that saree, the Indian attire is emblematic of Indian spirit; its all encompassing, ever evolving boundaries which embraces one and all just in the same way as saree can be never too long or too short for anybody.

An Introduction To Paperless Inventory Management Systems

Inventory Management Software

Splash offers Billing and Accounting Management software module which gives you a simple, efficient and cost-effective method to gain full control over accounting processes of your organization. Simple and reliable bookkeeping utility is useful accounting software for small businesses organization to meet the exact needs of business in cost effective way. Billing and Accounting Software enables you to maintain multiple company records, customer-vendor records, tax related and inventory management information, income and expenses details of your organization with the help of advanced barcode technology.
Inventory Management Software is a computer-based system for tracking inventory levels, purchasing, shipping, receiving, tracking, warehousing and storage, turnover, and reordering. Companies often use inventory management software to reduce their carrying costs. The software is used to track products and parts as they are transported from a vendor to a warehouse, between warehouses, and finally to a retail location or directly to a customer.

In today's business environment, even small and mid-sized businesses have come to rely on computerized inventory management systems. Certainly, there are plenty of small retail outlets, manufacturers, and other businesses that continue to rely on manual means of inventory tracking.

Automation can dramatically impact all phases of inventory management, including counting and monitoring of inventory items; recording and retrieval of item storage location; recording changes to inventory; and anticipating inventory needs, including inventory handling requirements. This is true even of stand-alone systems that are not integrated with other areas of the business, but many analysts indicate that productivity and hence profitability gains that are garnered through use of automated systems can be further increased when a business integrates its inventory control systems with other systems such as accounting and sales to better control inventory levels.

Inventory management software is used for a variety of purposes, including:
·         Maintaining a balance between too much and too little inventory.
·         Tracking inventory as it is transported between locations.
·         Receiving items into a warehouse or other location.
·         Picking, packing and shipping items from a warehouse.
·         Keeping track of product sales and inventory levels.
·         Cutting down on product obsolescence and spoilage.

Another important component of good inventory management is creation and maintenance of a sensible, effective warehousing design. A well-organized, user-friendly warehouse layout can be of enormous benefit to small business owners, especially if they are involved in processing large volumes of goods and materials. Conversely, an inefficient warehouse system can cost businesses dearly in terms of efficiency, customer service, and, ultimately, profitability.

Inventory Management System

Automated inventory control systems work by scanning a barcode either on the item. A barcode scanner is used to read the barcode, and the information encoded by the barcode is read by the machine. This information is then tracked by a central computer system. For example, a purchase order may contain a list of items to be pulled for packing and shipping. The inventory control system can serve a variety of functions in this case. It can help a worker locate the items on the order list in the warehouse, it can encode shipping information like tracking numbers and delivery addresses, and it can remove these purchased items from the inventory tally to keep an accurate count of in-stock items. All of this data works in tandem to provide businesses with real-time inventory tracking information. Inventory control systems make it simple to locate and analyze inventory information in real-time with a simple database search.

Inventory Management System

Inventory control is important to ensure quality control in businesses that handle transactions revolving around consumer goods. Without proper inventory control, a large retail store may run out of stock on an important item. A good inventory control system will alert the retailer when it is time to reorder. Inventory control is also an important means of automatically tracking large shipments. For example, if a business orders ten pairs of socks for retail resale, but only receives nine pairs, this will be obvious upon inspecting the contents of the package, and error is not likely. On the other hand, say a wholesaler orders 100,000 pairs of socks and 10,000 are missing. Manually counting each pair of socks is likely to result in error. An automated inventory control system helps to minimize the risk of error. In retail stores, an inventory control system also helps track theft of retail merchandise, providing valuable information about store profits and the need for theft-prevention systems.

On the other hand, developing countries, especially Asian countries like India and China, have followed an IT policy that resulted in the generation of enormously skilled manpower and a well developed IT infrastructure. This has led to a real boom in outsourcing industry with the destination being India.

India is one of the most preferred destinations for software development worldwide. With its highly skilled and available human resources, use of latest technologies and high–end infrastructure, India is capable of handling any type of software development. The strong point of software development India industry is its capacity to develop more rapidly the required software and provide innovative and customized software development solutions.

Stable Polity with Clear IT Policies:
India has been witnessing new political maturity with large but stable coalitions that have continued the market-friendly reforms introduced in 1991. The IT and ITeS sectors have been the biggest beneficiary of these policies. The Indian Parliament has enacted the Information Technology Bill, 2000 recognizing electronic contracts, barring electronic crime, and e-filing of documents. India also has a nodal association of the IT companies called NASSCOM to provide a blue print of the needs and progress path of IT vendors and companies in India.

Attractive Tax and non-tax Incentives for IT Companies:

The Central Government has provided many tax and other incentives to boost investment in the IT outsourcing industry in India. Some of the benefits accruing to IT firms are:

1.  10 year tax holiday for companies involved in construction and/or maintenance/operation of an infrastructure complex.

2.  10 year tax holiday to firm that generate and/or distribute power.
